JORGE ESPINOSA IS INVITED TO JOIN A PRESTIGIOUS PANEL OF

SCHOLARS AT THE FIU-SOUTHCOM ACADEMIC CONSORTIUM

The law firm of Espinosa | Trueba PL is proud to announce that Jorge Espinosa has been invited to participate with a panel of prestigious scholars at the FIU-SOUTHCOM Academic Consortium.  The United States Southern Command has commissioned FIU’s Applied Research Center (ARC) to do ten country studies focused on the way the leaders of those countries understand their international relations.   The project is co-sponsored by FIU’s Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (LACC).

The first presentation in the series will be given on July 9, 2009, at the offices of the U.S. Southern Command and deals with a study of Cuban strategic culture.  The invited participants include prominent local and national scholars - Lisandro Pérez, Ph.D. Sociology, Uva de Aragon, Ph.D. Modern Languages, Jorge Sanguinetty, Ph.D. Economics, Noelle Stout, Ph.D. Political Science, Jorge Dominguez, Ph.D. Political Science, Brian Latell, Ph.D. Political Science, Sergio Díaz-Briquets, Ph.D. Demography, Jorge Rodríguez-Beruff, Ph.D. History, Miguel Centeno, Ph.D. Sociology, Fred Quintana, M.A. International Relations and Anthony P. Maingot, Ph.D. Latin American Studies.  Jorge Espinosa, the only attorney invited to participate, will speak and provide a research paper regarding Cuba’s international negotiating posture involving technology and intellectual property.
